There is a shortage of skilled workers in yachting, and this is an opportunity to step into a field where craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism are rewarded at a higher level. We are looking for individuals who want more than just another job—people who want to build a career in a unique and high-end industry. Positions Include Maintenance Technicians Marine Systems & Engineering Support Yacht Finish Specialists (paint, varnish, detailing) Compensation $20
  • 30/hour to start (based on experience) With clear opportunities for advancement as skills develop. Why Yachting? Yachts require a higher level of workmanship than most traditional trades. While the standards are higher, the skills can be learned—and those who master them advance quickly. This is a pathway into an industry where: Engineers can earn $80,000
  • 100,000+ Finish specialists can earn $300
  • 400/day Opportunities exist to travel across the country and internationally Manhattan Yacht Club Apprentice Program (2-Year Track) For the right candidates, this role can lead into our structured two-year Yacht Apprentice Program, designed to develop well-rounded, high-level skills through hands-on experience.
You will work on real yachts and learn: Marine Electrical 12V systems, 110V & three-phase power Watertight marine connections Electrical troubleshooting Rigging & Deck Work Lifelines, shrouds, and rigging basics Line handling, splicing, and whipping Yacht Finishing Sanding, fairing, and surface prep Working with steel and aluminum Two-part epoxy systems High-end coatings including Awlgrip finishes Engines & Mechanical Diesel engine basics (oil, fluids, zincs) Small engine troubleshooting (fuel, carburetors) Outboard maintenance (lower units, water pumps) Fiberglass & Composites Fiberglass repair and fabrication Polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy systems Fairing and finish work Boat Handling Operating small powerboats (progressing to larger vessels) Docking and maneuvering Professional Operations Maintaining a clean, high-performance tool facility Planning work and ordering materials Operating at a yachting-level standard of precision Professional Standards Yachting is a guest-facing, high-end industry, and how you present yourself matters. You will be working around yacht owners, members, and guests, so we are looking for individuals who: Carry themselves with professionalism and respect Have a polite demeanor and strong manners Take pride in their appearance and presentation Communicate clearly in a professional environment Industry standards typically include: Clean, well-groomed appearance Conservative presentation while on duty No visible facial piercings or highly visible tattoos while working Where This Can Lead This is more than a job—it's an entry point into a different lifestyle and career path.
