The Role Rhode Island Fast Ferry is seeking First Mates for our summer season (beginning in May) aboard our high-speed passenger catamarans based in North Kingstown, RI. This is a non-rotational, seasonal position —candidates must be based locally or willing to relocate. Housing is not provided. As First Mate, you will support the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel while helping lead the onboard crew. This is a hands-on role that combines vessel operations, crew leadership, and maintenance responsibilities in a dynamic, passenger-focused environment. What You'll Do Assist the Captain with safe vessel operations and navigation Help lead and support onboard crew in daily operations Perform routine vessel maintenance and upkeep Ensure compliance with all company safety, security, and operational procedures Support a safe, efficient, and positive passenger experience Assist with vessel readiness, cleanliness, and organization Contribute to a strong, team-oriented onboard culture Vessels 110' high-speed passenger catamarans Twin
