Job Description The Subsea Operations Technician / Specialist will support offshore subsea intervention and maintenance activities aboard a subsea vessel. This role focuses on execution of subsea equipment changeouts, inspections, and intervention tasks using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and deck-based support systems. The position requires hands-on offshore experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic marine environment. While the primary scope is subsea operations, there is also strong interest in candidates with offshore/deepwater HSE or Safety Representative experience who can support and reinforce safe execution of work scopes. This is a short-term assignment (approximately 21 days) with potential for future opportunities based on performance. Recent offshore experience is required. Responsibilities Support subsea operations including subsea control module (SCM) changeouts and choke replacements Assist with execution of subsea inspection and intervention campaigns Coordinate and work closely with ROV teams during subsea operations Support back deck operations, including equipment preparation, handling, and mobilization Assist with lifting operations using offshore cranes, ensuring compliance with lifting procedures Monitor and verify proper installation, removal, and functionality of subsea equipment Promote and uphold strong HSE practices during all offshore activities Participate in pre-job planning, toolbox talks, JSAs, and risk assessments Identify hazards, support mitigation efforts, and reinforce stop work authority when necessary Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with safety and environmental procedures Provide clear communication with offshore teams, vessel crew, and supervisors Document operational activities and report any issues, deviations, or equipment concerns Skills Strong knowledge of subsea equipment and intervention operations Experience working with ROV systems and subsea tooling Familiarity with SCM systems, choke systems, and subsea production equipment Understanding of offshore lifting and rigging practices Working knowledge of offshore HSE standards and safe work practices Ability to support and execute back deck operations safely and efficiently Strong situational awareness and hazard recognition in offshore environments Effective communication and teamwork in multi-disciplinary crews Ability to adapt to changing offshore conditions and operational demands Qualifications Recent offshore/deepwater experience required Previous subsea operations experience preferred (SCM changeouts, choke changeouts, inspections) Experience in an HSE/Safety Representative role offshore is highly desirable Familiarity with ROV operations and vessel-based subsea campaigns Offshore certifications (as applicable), such as: BOSIET or equivalent HUET Valid offshore medical certification Relevant technical or safety training in offshore operations Crane/lifting or rigging experience preferred
