Job Description

Harbor Town Marine is hiring a part-time Marine Equipment Operator for seasonal operations through October. Weekend and some holiday availability is required. In this role, you will operate a 27,000 lb marine forklift to move, launch, and store boats in our rack system—handling vessels stored up to 30 feet in the air. You'll be responsible for safely removing boats from racks, placing them in the water, and returning them to storage without damage to boats, equipment, or surrounding structures. You will primarily be using the forklift for rack operations, with additional work in the spring and fall operating a Travel Lift to move winter storage boats. This position requires precision and full attention—there is no room for error.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a high-capacity marine forklift to launch, retrieve, and store vessels safely and efficiently Carefully maneuver boats to and from water slips, storage racks, and trailers Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation equipment checks to ensure safe forklift operation Inspect boats for damage before and after handling, and promptly report any issues Secure boats properly for storage, ensuring protection from weather and environmental conditions Assist boaters with docking, loading/unloading gear, and other marina services as needed Communicate clearly and courteously with customers to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience Maintain clean and orderly work areas, including the forklift, dock, and storage areas Follow all safety protocols and marina procedures to ensure the safety of customers, coworkers, and equipment Support additional marina operations such as fueling, line handling, and general maintenance
