Job Description

Job Overview UpNorth is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Delivery Driver to join our Operations team. In this role, you'll be responsible for safely delivering cannabis products to licensed facilities across California while providing exceptional customer service. Using company vehicles, you'll manage deliveries, complete required documentation, collect payments, and occasionally assist with warehouse operations. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys driving, values punctuality and accuracy, and takes pride in maintaining professionalism, reliability and safety on the road. This position reports to the hub's Operations Manager.
Minimum Requirements Must:
be 21 years of age or older, pass a background check and have a valid CA Driver's License with clean DMV Record. be able to speak, read, write and understand English at the level of a high school student be able to legally work in the United States. (Workdays may last around 12 hours depending on delivery location, travel distance and needs of the company.) Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Delivery of Cannabis products to licensed facilities throughout California in accordance with DCC guidelines and UpNorth Policy. This includes providing professional and courteous customer service while ensuring all necessary documents are signed and/or filled out properly. This also requires familiarizing and ensuring all products being loaded and or unloaded are documented in accordance with regulations. Follow all required laws, regulatory guidelines and company protocols including the UpNorth Driver SOP and Driver / Sales Communications SOP Ensure Operations are notified of all vehicle maintenance needs and assist with fulfilling them Maintain vehicle cleanliness Ensure proper order verification and loading process for daily routes Provide pick up for inbound transfers to include full detail of products matching any associated documents and counts verified Ensure proper communications for order changes or discrepancies while on site to include following Driver SOP and Driver / Sales Communications SOP. Assist with internal warehouse duties such as order picking, packing, inventory movement and staging per policy and procedures and/or duties defined by the needs of the company Other duties as assigned Supervisor Responsibilities There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Proficiency in reading and understanding all associated documentation such as, but not limited to Itineraries, Metrc Manifests, Cash Forms and Maintenance Logs Proven ability to manage time efficiently Proven ability to follow directions (written and verbal) Attention to detail Professional communication skills Understands and follows the rules of driving in California Can navigate and arrive at locations along the delivery route Ability to commute during early traffic hours to arrive and start your shift on time Preferred 2+ years experience as a delivery service driver 1+ years customer service experience (retail/sales/hospitality environment) Work Environment Most of the day is spent in the vehicle driving to and from delivery locations. When at delivery locations the driver must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. Some time will be spent in the warehouse working with inventory and/or cleaning the building or vehicle. Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary position. To perform the required tasks of this position, a Delivery Driver needs to have and/or be able to: Satisfactorily operate a company vehicle and be able to constantly remain in a seated position up to approximately 75% of your shift Use eyes and ears to detect traffic movement and the direction of the road Intermittently move within the warehouse, between the warehouse and vehicles, and vehicle to the delivery location; including possibly ascending and descending stairs Lift boxes and/or other items up to 50 lbs. and move them through the warehouse, between the warehouse and vehicles or from the vehicle to the delivery location Distances and times may vary based on which vehicles are being loaded or unloaded Be able to navigate uneven terrain, such as sidewalks, parking lots and city curbs Communicate with supervisor, sales team, accounting and clients
