They spend their days on the road, driving large trucks through city streets and highways to make sure that FedEx's customers get their deliveries on time. As a driver for FedEx, you're part of a team that works together to ensure that millions of packages arrive at their destination every day. You may also be tasked with other duties such as loading and unloading your truck, preparing it for the next day's route, or even assisting customers with their package when they can't find an address or have another issue. Job Duties FedEx drivers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include: Communicating with dispatch about pick-up and delivery times, delivery locations, and potential traffic issues that may delay the driver's progress Ensuring that packages are properly stored in the truck's cargo area to prevent damage during transport Following federal regulations regarding fuel efficiency, vehicle maintenance, and safe driving practices Transporting packages using a commercial truck that is specially designed to carry large freight loads over long distances Monitoring weather conditions to ensure safe driving conditions Maintaining records of deliveries made and time spent on duty Performing pre-delivery inspection of packages to ensure that they are properly labeled and undamaged Delivering packages to the recipients door or workplace by foot or automobile Communicating with customers to provide status updates on deliveries Summary As a FedEx Delivery Driver, you will be a vital part of our team responsible for timely and efficient package delivery.
