Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Patient Services/Dietary department at Queen's Medical Center provides food and beverage services to both patients and catering groups. We cook, present and deliver meals direct to patient rooms in all parts of the hospital and provide catering services for department and outside groups visiting Queens. Shifts range from 6 to 8 hours. We are looking for team members who understand how great customer service and nutritious food can affect the recovery patients. We are recruiting and willing to train for all positions and roles that include responsibilities such as preparing and cooking food, plating meals according to specific diets, delivery of meals and support utility positions.
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the transportation of food and supplies to and from The Queen's Medical Center (QMC) - Manamana campus and various offsite locations. Performs meal service duties for patients including meal assembly, serving meals, collecting meal trays and dishroom duties.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential:
standing, walking, stooping/bending, squatting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting up to maximum 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to maximum 50 pounds of force; carrying up to 40 pounds for a distance of 10 feet, reaching above/at/below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.
Frequent:
gripping of an object.
Occasional:
climbing stairs.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. May be exposed to outside environmental conditions. Some exposure to chemicals and odors, and hazardous materials. Operates a fleet vehicle.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
High School diploma preferred. Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with Hawaii state law rules and regulations. Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving record. Meets and complies with qualifications set forth in QMC Fleet Safety policy and with prescribed education and training.
B. EXPERIENCE
