Drivers operate company vehicles, follow assigned routes, provide excellent customer service, and ensure packages are delivered accurately and on time while complying with all safety regulations and company policies. Key ResponsibilitiesPackage Delivery & Pickup Deliver packages to homes, businesses, and other designated locations. Pick up outgoing shipments from customers according to scheduled routes. Verify package information and delivery addresses. Obtain customer signatures when required. Handle packages carefully to prevent damage. Vehicle Operation Safely operate delivery vans, step vans, or other commercial vehicles. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Report maintenance issues, accidents, or safety concerns promptly. Follow all traffic laws and company driving policies. Route Management Navigate assigned delivery routes efficiently using GPS and route-planning tools. Meet daily delivery and pickup schedules. Adapt to traffic, weather, and route changes as needed. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups. Customer Service Interact professionally and courteously with customers. Answer basic shipping and delivery questions. Resolve minor delivery issues when possible. Represent FedEx in a positive and professional manner. Safety & Compliance Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations when applicable. Use proper lifting and package-handling techniques. Wear required safety equipment and uniforms. Comply with company policies regarding vehicle operation and package security. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass background checks and drug screening (requirements may vary by position and contractor). Ability to pass a physical examination if required. Strong time-management and organizational skills. Good communication and customer-service abilities. Physical Requirements Lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50-150 pounds depending on the specific position. Frequently enter and exit the delivery vehicle throughout the day. Walk, bend, squat, and climb stairs regularly. Work in various weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Stand and drive for extended periods. Work Environment Primarily outdoor work with extensive driving. Fast-paced environment with daily delivery quotas. Early morning, daytime, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. Exposure to varying weather and road conditions. Typical Schedule Full-time or part-time positions available. Shifts often begin early in the morning.
