Role Overview The Removal Technician / Mortuary Driver plays a vital role in IFP's mission by ensuring the dignified and respectful transfer of decedents into our care. This is a part-time, on-call position compensated on a piece rate basis, well-suited for someone who values flexible scheduling, takes pride in doing meaningful work with care and professionalism, and understands the trust families place in us during their most difficult moments. This role is based out of our Kooskia, Idaho location and serves the surrounding communities. Key Responsibilities Respond to removal calls on an on-call basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Transport decedents from homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other locations to the funeral home with professionalism and discretion Handle all transfers with dignity, care, and respect for the decedent and the family Properly complete and maintain transfer documentation and chain-of-custody records Maintain cleanliness and readiness of removal vehicles and equipment Communicate clearly and compassionately with family members and facility staff at the time of removal Follow all applicable safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Qualifications Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, and to maneuver cots and stretchers safely Reliable transportation and the ability to respond to calls within a reasonable timeframe Comfortable working in emotionally sensitive environments and with families in grief Strong sense of professionalism, discretion, and personal integrity Prior experience in funeral service, medical transport, EMS, or a related field is a plus but not required Must be at least 18 years of age Compensation This role is compensated on a piece rate basis at $100 per after-hours removal. Idaho law requires that total piece rate earnings meet or exceed minimum wage for all hours worked. In any period where the effective hourly rate falls below the Idaho minimum wage, compensation will be adjusted accordingly. Why IFP? Our core vision is to find, achieve, and enjoy a better way.
