Job Description

Position Summary:
The Part-Time Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of rescued food using the Kentucky Harvest fleet (cargo vans and box trucks). This role plays a critical part in our mission to reduce food waste and feed those in need. Drivers will adhere to all traffic laws and organization fleet policies, ensuring the timely and secure delivery of food to designated recipients.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate vehicles (vans and box trucks) for food pickups and deliveries.
  • Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
  • Load and secure food items for safe transport, maintaining proper food safety standards.
  • Follow designated delivery routes and schedules.
  • Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of vehicles.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and organization fleet policies.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with donors and recipients.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items regularly (up to 50 lbs).
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of local traffic laws.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ending
Food Waste and Insecurity Schedule:
  • Approximately 10-20 hours per week, primarily between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional hours may be offered outside of these times, depending on operational needs.
Compensation:
