Truck Driver - CDL A - Part Time

Overview Join our team as a Part-Time / Flexible CDL A Truck Driver in Tompkinsville, KY. This position involves operating both a trash/refuse truck on local collection routes and a 5-car hauler for transporting vehicles. The schedule is highly flexible — you will typically be needed about 1-2 days per week. Duties Safely operate a trash/refuse truck (rear-load or automated) on assigned residential and commercial collection routes, including proper dumping at the landfill or transfer station Safely drive a 5-car hauler, load and secure vehicles using ramps, straps, and chains, then deliver them to designated locations Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT standards Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while on route Complete accurate logs, manifests, weight tickets, and required delivery or collection documentation Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues Maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing the company during collections and deliveries Schedule Flexible / variable part-time schedule — typically 1-2 days per week Local routes only - home every night Advance notice will be provided whenever possible, but flexibility is required Skills & Requirements Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record Minimum 6 months of CDL A experience; previous experience with trash trucks or car haulers is a plus. Ability to safely secure vehicles on a 5-car hauler and handle the physical demands of trash collection routes (outdoor work, climbing, lifting straps/chains) Strong commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance (DOT, OSHA) Good communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Must be at least 23 years old and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and produce a medical card.
