Job Description

A Bimbo Independent Distributor is essentially independent contractor who purchases the rights to distribute Bimbo Bakeries products within a designated geographic territory or to specific types of retailers. Main products include Brownberry, Thomas, Oroweat, Entenmanns, and Little Bites. This role combines business ownership, sales, and logistics. Key responsibilities, requirements, and day-to-day duties include:
Core Responsibilities Product Delivery & Stocking:
Picking up fresh baked goods at wholesale cost from local Bimbo sales centers and delivering them on a set schedule to supermarkets.
Shelf Merchandising:
Physically stocking the shelves, rotating products to ensure freshness, and pulling outdated or expired products.
Account Management:
Building strong relationships with store managers and owners to resolve issues and fulfill orders.
Inventory & Route Management:
Using handheld computers to track inventory, manage invoices, and handle daily route settlement. Business Requirements & Expenses Because you operate as an independent business, you are responsible for the overhead costs of your route, including: Purchasing the
Route:
Buying the distribution rights. (Financing is available for qualified buyers).
Vehicles:
Purchasing or leasing your own delivery vehicle (usually a white box truck) and covering all fuel and maintenance costs. (Truck available)
Insurance:
Obtaining required commercial business and vehicle insurance (including general liability and cargo coverage).
Business Formation:
Registering as an official incorporated entity (e.g., an LLC). Be your own boss, earn immediate income from day one, and build equity in a route you can eventually sell! Current price for the protected route is $138,000. Down payment will be required.
