Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Delivery Specialist III and become a vital part of our logistics and customer service operations! The purpose of the Delivery Specialist is to safely deliver to customers while following DOT regulations in regards to hazmat shipping and handling. This must be accomplished while maintaining an on-time shipment rate of 95% or better. Travel can be expected you are given a $16 per diem, can expect anywhere from 2-4 nights being spent overnight in their sleeper cab when on the road, and travel region is MN, WI, IA, ND and SD. Duties Deliver products to customers in a consistent, standardized method. Perform your job functions in a way that exceeds customer's expectations. Understand the hazards in the chemicals you handle & perform your job in a way that is safe for you, the people around you, & the environment. Work effectively with Logistics Planners to ensure deliveries are timely and routes are efficient. Follow the protocol that all tanks you deliver to must be labeled properly and have a serial number that matches your paperwork. Perform a Pre-Trip Truck Inspection before & during your daily routes. Report mechanical issues promptly. Ensure your unloading equipment & tools are maintained in proper working order. Report issues promptly. Keep the interior of your truck clean and clutter free. Ensure the exterior of your truck projects a good image to our customers. Ensure your electronic logs onboard monitor is working & in use during your entire trip. Report issues promptly. Understand and abide by the Kurita America Work Rules and Disciplinary Policy. Take direction from and assist the Fleet Manager. Be a valued team member. Performance of other duties as assigned Qualifications A valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Material Endorsement and a valid Tanker Endorsement. Met or exceeded all requirements of the 90 day probationary period. Met or exceeded all requirements of the Kurita America Delivery Fleet Certification Process in at least one Delivery Service type (Bulk, Drum, or Tote). Physical Requirements Must be physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle, and may not be disqualified from driving a commercial motor vehicle. This includes presenting and maintaining a valid medical examiner's certificate (health card), or acceptable substitute, showing he/she is qualified Must pass a physical, vision screening, & drug and alcohol screening, prior to hire and on an ongoing basis (as permitted by law). Must be able to move heavy drums with manual moving equipment. Must be able to properly wear a respirator and PPE as required. Must be willing to wear a uniform. Must pass a Kurita America mechanical aptitude & basic skills test. Must complete a Kurita America personality trait evaluation Critical Success Factors Maintain an excellent safety record. Maintain an excellent driving record. Ensure no safety violations. Ensure no moving violations. Ensure no preventable accidents. Ensure no out of service DOT violations. Ensure COTD of 95% or better. Ensure 100% use of electronic logs. Ensure adherence to an agreed upon trip routing
