Duties Safely operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks and courier vans to complete scheduled routes efficiently. Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or pallet jacks, ensuring proper stacking and securement. Deliver packages directly to customers' homes or businesses while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude. Verify delivery addresses, obtain signatures when required, and document all deliveries accurately. Follow prescribed route driving procedures, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations at all times. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route progress, delays, or issues encountered during deliveries. Skills Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with knowledge of route planning and navigation. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients. Experience operating commercial vehicles such as box trucks with manual transmission preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving of packages safely and efficiently. Familiarity with warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus. Knowledge of safety protocols related to driving, loading/unloading cargo, and vehicle maintenance.
