is a United States Postal Service contractor. We are seeking a safety-conscious and motivated CDL Class B driver to join the team. Candidates must have a valid CDL B and at least two years of commercial driving experience. Candidates must have an MVR that reflects safety consciousness, and be able to pass a Postal Background Check and pre-employment drug screen. We have an immediate opening! The rate of pay is $31.23 per hour (Breakdown of pay: $26.30 per hour plus $4.93 per hour for Health and Welfare Fringe Benefit for up to 80 hours per pay period). ​Part Time Position. Driver is expected to work Friday​, Saturday, and Sunday. Driver will earn approximately 2​2 hours​ and 15 minutes hours a week. With the opportunity to earn more hours on their off days. Paid training and ride along. 24/7 dispatch support. ​This is a touch freight position. Collecting mail consists of physically loading the truck with rolling containers containing mail. Dropping off mail consists of physically offloading the truck by pushing rolling containers. Each driver unloads/loads their own truck. Friday-Sunday route starts and ends in Jacksonville, NC. Route has an off duty unpaid layover (split shift) on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is a short day (no layover). Friday and Saturday -​ Total Route - 10 hours. The route starts at the Jacksonville Post Office, the driver will load mail at 4:​35​ AM. The driver will then transport the mail to the following U.S.

Post Offices:

Hubert, Swansboro, Emerald Isle, and returns back to Jacksonville. Driver will do this two times in the morning. Ending at Jacksonville, NC Post Office at approximately 9:1​1 AM. Truck then lays over in Jacksonville, NC.​ (off duty and unpaid layover) After the off-duty layover, driver must report back to work at 12:​45 PM in Jacksonville. The driver then collects mail from the following U.S.

Post Offices:

Hubert, Swansboro, Emerald Isle, and transports the mail to Jacksonville where it is off loaded. Driver will do this two times in the afternoon. Route ends in Jacksonville at approximately 6:​24 PM. Sunday- Total Route Hours - 2 hours 15 minutes The route starts at ​7:45 AM ​at the Jacksonville Post Office​ where the driver will load the mail. The driver will then transport the mail to the following U.S.

Hubert, Swansboro, Emerald Isle, and returns back to Jacksonville.​ Route ends approximately 1​0:00​ AM in Jacksonville. Skills Driver must have a valid Commercial Driver license, a minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience and the ability to maneuver and back in tight spots. Must have a clean driving record, can have limited minor violations. Ability to read, comprehend, and write in the English language and perform simple tasks with the mental ability to handle receipts, read maps and road signs, and maintain logs. Must be able to use a GPS to go to different Post Offices. Driver must have a smart phone and be able to use Samsara/Mapquest/google maps driving directions. Must have detailed knowledge of and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines, including but not limited to, those governing safe driving, hours of service, inspections, and transportation. Ability to meet DOT regulations and guidelines pertaining to the physical qualifications for commercial drivers. Ability to satisfactorily pass alcohol and drug tests. Ability to be subject to irregular work schedules, short notice for assignment of trip, tight delivery schedules, delays on trip, and other stress and fatigue related to driving a truck on crowded streets and highways in various weather conditions. Qualifications Driver must have a valid Commercial Driver License and a minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidate's motor vehicle record must reflect safety consciousness. Must be able to operate in an independent environment with limited supervision. Must be able to pass a Postal background check and a drug test.
