Prepares pallets to load on truck, delivers meals along prescribed route, completes delivery ticket properly at each stopMission Focus:
Second Harvest's mission is to align with our neighbors and together build hunger free communities. The Community Meals Driver assists in this effort by partnering with the Community Meals team in successful implementation of the delivered meals programs by helping delivering prepared meals to our neighbors and organizational partners. Essential Job Functions (the required results/outcomes of the job):- Supports the attainment of organizational goals by maintaining quality standards for food preparation and presentation, as well as cleanliness and sanitation.
- Coordinates the delivery and service of high-quality food to agencies with a wide variety of nutritional needs and dietary restrictions by preparing pallets of food for loading, loading the food, and properly delivering food within an acceptable temperature range.
- Assures government compliance by temping the food before unloading it to the site, logging the time and temperature of the meals, properly filling out delivery tickets, checking delivery tickets for items, and taking those inside to the designated area.
- Maintains awareness of expiration dates and rotates products appropriately.
- When all deliveries are done, return any unused items back to the food bank.
- Keeps vehicle properly fueled.
- Reports any vehicle related issues to Community Meals Kitchen Manager.
- Reports any problems with sites and meals to Community Meals Kitchen Manager.
- Provides excellent customer service to the meal recipients/site coordinators.
- Assists in department's catering operation by working on catering events as directed by the Community Meals Kitchen Manager.
- Ensures safe work areas by complying with all OSHA, health, and sanitation regulations and requirements including, but not limited to, the implementation of safety, hazardous communication, fall prevention, and bloodborne pathogen programs, conducting accident/injury investigations, providing new employee orientation and required in-service training.
- Communicates daily with Community Meals Kitchen Manager on what product is to be delivered.
- Other tasks as needed.
