Description:

Hoover Truck & Bus Centers is a Western Star Truck, Freightliner Truck and Bluebird Bus Dealer, with sales and service locations in Edgewater Park, Flanders, Stanhope, and Toms River, NJ.

Summary:

Experienced, safe parts driver, will provide excellent customer service as well as safe, efficient, timely delivery and pick up of truck parts and equipment to customers on an assigned route, using a Company owned vehicle.

Parts Driver Job Responsibilities:

Maintain communication with parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counterperson, and shipping/receiving clerk to coordinate all pick-ups and deliveries (planned and last minute) Verify invoice against purchase order for each pick-up Maintain accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, and obtain recipient's signature for each delivery entry Unload truck each night Submit all paperwork for undelivered parts Basic maintenance of truck, including gassing, checking oil, keeping it clean and ensuring required inspections are performed Advise parts manager of necessary major truck repairs or maintenance Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department Assist with stocking and posting orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to shop

Requirements:

Parts Driver Qualifications:

Successful candidates will be or possess: 6 months' related experience (i.e.: truck/auto parts delivery) Regularly required to lift/transfer up to 50 pounds, and occasionally required to lift/transfer up to 75 pounds Clean, valid driver's license (no major/minor violations/at-fault accidents in last 5 years) For insurance purposes, drivers must be at least 25 years of age. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills Excellent and efficient customer service skills Willingness and ability to make deliveries throughout the areas serviced The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Compensation Range Disclosure:

In compliance with New Jersey's pay transparency regulations, we are disclosing the compensation range for this position. The hourly wage range for this position is $18-$23 an hour, depending on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.
