Job Description

Join our team and help bring the library to life beyond our walls! As a Library Delivery Driver, you'll ensure that books and materials reach the right place at the right time, helping connect our community with the resources they need. We're looking for someone dependable, organized, and passionate about supporting library services.

Part-Time (24 hours per week), Non-Exempt Reports to:
Assistant Facilities Manager Wage:
$15.00 per hour
Position Summary:
Using the library vehicles, the driver, following a specified route, performs the daily delivery of materials and supplies to each GCPL maintained facility.
Essential Job Functions:
This list is illustrative, but not exhaustive for this position. Driving and making deliveries to the libraries. Pack books and other materials for distribution. Distribute supplies within Administrative Center. Vehicle inspection. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
Good verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skills required. Ability to work unsupervised. Ability to carry out assigned route on time. Ability to drive and maneuver GCPL vehicles. Willingness and adaptability to work in a challenging work environment. Safely observe all PERRP procedures.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license is required to operate library-owned vehicles and an acceptable driving record must be maintained at all times. Successful completion of a background and MVR checks.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend, stretch, walk, crawl, and/or kneel in order to perform essential job functions. Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with or with assistance. Ability to maneuver in and out of the back of a cargo vehicle. Ability to operate objects, tools, or controls - including computers, phones, and office equipment. Competence in completing tasks that involve reading or visual inspection, with or without visual aids.
