Job Description
Description Sanpete County Senior Nutrition seeks reliable, dependable, and compassionate individual to deliver meals to homebound senior citizens in the North Sanpete area. The position is based at the Moroni Senior Center and involves delivering meals on a tight scheduled, working well with others, and assisting as needed.
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of skilled duties related to the preparation, serving, and delivery of food and food items for Senior Citizens, assuring compliance with the guidelines and standards established by the Area Agency on Aging, Dietician and State Nutritionist for Aging Services.SUPERVISION RECEIVED

None.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Check the home delivery list to get a meal count for the day. Help the cooks get meals packaged (when needed) and load meals in the delivery vehicle. Drive delivery vehicles on pre-scheduled routes, in a timely manner to maintain safe food temperatures. Document last meal temperature on temperature log. Take a cash box for donations. Upon returning, count money and sign the receipt with the site manager. Perform general routine maintenance as needed and daily inspections on the delivery vehicle. Document fuel purchases, oil purchases and maintenance of the delivery vehicle. Clean exterior and interior of vehicle, including cleaning and disinfecting the heated truck compartments as needed. Document mileage and meal count after each delivery run. Apprise supervisor as needed to purchase replacement materials or schedule complex repairs of the delivery vehicle. Obtain and maintain proper "Food Handlers Permit:
and "Serv-Safe" certifications. May assist in meal preparation on an as needed basis. Perform other related duties as assigned. Recognize and act on emergency and medical situations with seniors.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age.Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalent AND Be a licensed driver for at least 2 yearsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Vehicle operation and safety regulations Basic automotive maintenance Geographical regions serviced State and Federal regulations related to food safety and sanitation Basic record keeping Special needs of senior citizens and handicapped clients Ability to: Follow detailed verbal or written work instructions Exercise Safety and precautionary measures while driving Perform physically demanding tasks related to lifting Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing Drive and person under extreme weather conditions Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, other agencies, and the publicSpecial Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age Must possess and maintain a Utah State food handlers permit. Must possess and maintain a Utah driver licenseWork Environment:
Tasks require a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds, etc. Talking, hearing, and seeing are essential to the performance of the job. Common eye, hand and finger dexterity may exist Strength of arms, hands, legs, and back is required in the performance of essential functions Functions of the position are periodically performed in extreme weather conditions, i.e. snow, rain, etc. Various levels of mental application are required, i.e. memory for details, emotional stability, discriminating thinking, creative problem solving Continuous travel required in the normal course of job performance In centers without a janitor, the delivery driver also performs janitorial duties. These duties would include dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, moping, cleaning the restrooms, etc.Job Type:
