Job Description Purpose of Job:
The Pre Sell Delivery Driver will be responsible for promoting Interstate's line of products by ensuring accurate and timely delivery of batteries and related materials to dealers.
Job Components:
Sell new batteries and all battery related product that were pre-sold Complete pre-sale tickets accurately and submit to warehouse in a timely manner Ensure accurate, timely delivery of new batteries, merchandising fixtures, and all other battery related products Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with Pre Sell Manager, including but not limited to text messages, email, and phone calls Accountable for executing consignment changes, securing recyclable batteries, completing warranty claims, performing battery rotations, collecting cash, and invoicing Deliver new batteries Invoice all units that fail to last the full warranty period Rotate batteries Collect junk batteries Collect money Maintain the route by keeping displays clean and keeping dealer list up to date Service each dealer Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies Load and unload trucks safely and maintain accurate account of all company assets Establish, build and maintain dealer relationships Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Two years of relevant customer service experience. High school graduate (or equivalent) Must have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and fork lift Ability to read, write, and do basic math Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to ensure timely deliveries and efficient route coverage Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools is required (tablets, scanners)
Scope Data:
Will work with customers and dealers on a regular basis. Works independently with limited supervision Uses frequent independent judgement when making decisions Operate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitude
Work Environment:
Frequent sitting and standing Must have and maintain a valid driver's license Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Consistent sitting, standing and walking Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle Overtime as required
