Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and reliable. We are seeking a full-time candidate for this position. This position is focused on our frozen delivery business which is a unique part of our business that has set us apart in the pet food industry. We deliver monthly to 70+ different locations throughout the MidWest (WI, IL, IA, MI). The deliveries occur on Saturdays & Sundays with the potential of some expansion during the week. Our ideal candidate is someone who is able to learn different facets of our shipping and delivery business. Monday-Wednesday, the position will primarily pack shipping orders by hand, receive frozen and dry inventory, place orders, and ensure the freezer is well kept. Thursday-Friday will be assisting in loading the delivery trucks for the weekend including picking and packing dry goods, printing/organizing invoices, etc. This position will also be responsible for driving our delivery trucks two weekends a month. We are willing to train the right individual but the ability to work weekends, be comfortable driving in all conditions, and a self-motivated attitude is required. Comfort with a computer is also required. Our trucks are 5500 Dodge Ram or 650 Ford pickups equipped with a 4-5 door freezer body and we also have small trailers that we can add for larger days. Responsibilities Pull, pack, and ship frozen orders Receive and put away frozen shipments with fork lift, pallet jack, and by hand Handle the day-to-day operations of our shipping and delivery business Drive safely in various weather conditions Navigate a variety of routes throughout the city while adhering to a time schedule Load and unload goods by hand to be delivered (typical day is 6,000+ lbs of product) Qualifications Safe driving record Valid Driver's License Forklift Experience Exceptional customer service skills Ability to work well under little to no supervision Ability to lift 50+ lbs repetitively throughout the day Experience pulling a trailer is preferred
