Job Description

Summary The Boca Raton is actively hiring a water taxi captain to work aboard its prestigious marine fleet. As south Florida premier five-star resort we are looking for a qualified USCG licensed captain, with excellent aptitude for service and positive disposition. They will be confident in navigating a 26' inboard diesel launch that carries 24 guests between harborside and the beach club across lake boca, during busy holiday weekends and at night. Essential Functions Job duties include, although are not limited to: 1. Water taxis operate 365 days a year starting at 9am and ending as late as 9pm 2. Performing daily systems check of the vessel prior to its scheduled start. 3. Prep vessel with complementary waters and sundries before operating and maintaining throughout the shift and maintaining cleanliness of vessel throughout the day. 4. Operates vessels safely and in accordance with coast guard regulations, including but not limited to logging guests counts, welcome aboard speech, keeping a watch for any wakes while underway or embarking and disembarking guests. 5. Participate in quarterly USCG safety drills. 6. Maintains proper communication with other company vessels and other vessels in the area. 7. Always operate the vessel in a safe and professional manner. 8. Reports any damage and/or loss to Dockmaster/ Assistant Dockmaster immediately 9. Provides excellent customer service and, when appropriate, interacts with guests in accordance with Forbes Five Star Standard. 10. At the end of shift secure and thoroughly wash vessel, remove any trash, assess lines and fenders. Turn in radio and guest count at end of shift. 11. Any other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as directed by Dockmaster/ Assistant Dockmaster. Internal Relationships Reports to Dockmaster/ Assistant Dockmaster External Relationships Has regular interaction with guests and members of the resort. Qualifications
  • Must possess
USCG Merchant Mariner Credential:
Master, minimum 25 Tons
  • Current USCG Medical Certificate
  • FCC Marine Radio Operators Permit
  • Valid Drivers License
  • First Aid/ CPR certified Education/Experience Requirements Be Drugfree and prepared to enter the consortium High School Diploma or GED Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience operating inspected passenger vessels.
