This role is perfect for someone with a passion for maritime navigation, management, and hands-on mechanical work. As the captain, you will ensure smooth sailing for passengers and crew alike, maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational excellence. Your leadership will inspire confidence and create memorable experiences on the water. Responsibilities Safely operate and navigate boats in various conditions, ensuring passenger and crew safety at all times Manage vessel maintenance, including rigging inspections, mechanical checks, and troubleshooting to keep equipment in top condition Oversee crew management, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative team environment Conduct pre-departure safety briefings and ensure compliance with all maritime regulations and safety protocols Coordinate logistics for trips, including route planning, weather assessment, and docking procedures Perform rigging setups and adjustments to ensure vessel stability and safety during operations Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected situations by implementing appropriate protocols and communicating effectively with emergency responders if needed Skills Strong management skills to lead a crew effectively while maintaining high safety standards Mechanical knowledge of boat systems, engines, rigging equipment, and troubleshooting techniques Proficiency in navigation tools and maritime communication devices Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to maintenance and safety issues Ability to perform physical tasks such as rigging adjustments and mechanical inspections in various weather conditions This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine leadership with technical expertise on the water.
