Manta Boat Captain - Full-Time OpportunityJoin One of Hawaii's Most Unique Ocean Adventures!
MUST CURRENTLY BE A RESIDENT OF KAILUA-KONA, HAWAII FOR CONSIDERATION
Do you love being on the water, working with people, and creating unforgettable experiences? We're looking for an energetic, guest-focused Manta Boat Captain to lead our evening manta ray adventures along the beautiful Kona Coast. This is more than just a captain's position—it's an opportunity to build a long-term career in Hawaii's tourism and marine industry. What You'll Do As Captain, you'll be responsible for safely operating our vessel while leading a small team of manta guides and crew members. You'll set the tone for the guest experience, ensuring every trip is safe, professional, and memorable.
Responsibilities Include:
Safely operate and navigate the vessel while complying with all USCG and maritime regulations Lead and mentor a team of manta guides and crew members Deliver engaging safety briefings and ensure guests feel welcome and comfortable Create a fun, positive, and professional atmosphere onboard Conduct pre-departure vessel inspections and safety checks Maintain vessel logs, maintenance records, and trip reports Coordinate routine maintenance and address mechanical concerns as needed Respond effectively during emergencies and implement safety procedures when required Work closely with management to ensure smooth daily operations What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people, takes pride in their work, and leads by example.
Preferred Qualifications:
USCG Captain's License Experience operating vessels of similar size and complexity Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent guest service and communication abilities Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of marine systems Ability to remain calm, professional, and safety-focused under pressure Military, first responder, or similar leadership experience is highly valued Positive attitude and willingness to work hard as part of a team Why Join Us? $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
