Job Description

Job Overview The Liberty Fleet of Tall Ships is looking for a Captain or Relief Captain for the 2026 season aboard the schooners Liberty Star and Fame! Join us for SailBoston 2026, Boston's Harborfest celebrating America's 250th Anniversary, and the World Cup! Liberty Star and Fame offer day sails in Boston Harbor. This is a great opportunity for captains to gain experience on traditionally rigged tall ships while sailing the waters of a world class city. Duties As Captain you will be responsible for the safety of the passengers, crew, and ship. This includes a brief safety orientation before each trip, monitoring weather conditions and communicating with passengers, sailing the boat in a fun and safe manner, and be friendly to all the guests. You should also expect to help the crew with daily tasks. Liberty Star and Fame offers public sails and private charters on the waters of Boston Harbor. The boat sails 7 days a week, typically 4 sails a day. During festivals we may sail up to 5 times a day. The boat sails from Fan Pier Marina in the heart of Boston's Seaport District from early May through Columbus Day. All crew are subject to DOT drug testing.
