Job Description

Boat Captain/Tug Operator Description:
Murtech Marine Division is seeking qualified truckable tug/boat captains to run a multitude of vessels to support marine construction projects within the Delmarva region. This position will mainly entail jobsite operating of twin trackable tugs shifting various barges and floating craft. This is not hitch work, and the captain will have the benefit of going home at night.
Other responsibilities to include:
Direct crew members and assist boats during barge shifts. Load and transport crew, assorted pieces of equipment, supplies, and materials Consult maps, charts, weather reports, and navigation equipment to determine and direct boats/barge movements. Outfit and maintain proper safety equipment Direct maintenance of the vessels as needed Maintain required logs. Safely moor, fender, or anchor boat/barge. Qualifications and Skills Valid
USCG OUPV
/ "6-Pack" License (minimum requirement) 25 Ton Master's License or greater preferred 5 years' experience operating commercial vessels Occasional lifting, climbing, and use of hand tools When vessel operations are not in progress, employees will be expected to assist with other related job duties and project operations as needed. Relocation benefits possible based on qualifications of the applicant Schedule Monday - Friday 7AM-3:30PM with 30-minute lunch break. Depending on weather and project progress, weekend work and overtime can be expected at times. Pay Weekly pay based upon experience and skills.
