Acts as Vessel Chief Pipelay Engineer in the absence of dedicated Vessel Chief Pipelay Engineer position onboard (or Vessel Chief Engineer acting as Vessel Chief Pipelay Engineer). Refer to Vessel Chief Pipelay Engineer job description key activities. Prepare schedule for fixed pipelay equipment Assist Vessel Chief Pipelay Engineer in proposals for modification to fixed pipelay equipment Monitor the Technicians onboard the vessel to ensure that the fixed pipelay equipment is fully operational and efficiently maintained in accordance with relevant legislation Responsible for safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment temporarily onboard the vessel Review equipment reports from operators and evaluate information received, and pass all recommendations for improvement to Vessel Chief Pipelay Engineer Liaise with Vessel Chief Pipelay Engineer to ensure: Maintenance is being carried out on the fixed pipelay systems to required Company standards Adequate technical advice is given concerning fixed pipelay systems Adequate spares are available for fixed pipelay systems You are meant for this job if you have City and Guilds Level 3 / NVQ3 or equivalent in relevant trade, or equivalent industry or military experience Offshore Experience Valid Offshore Survival and OEUK Medical
