The successful candidate will be responsible for managing vessel maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating with various departments to optimize vessel performance. This role requires a strong background in maritime management, mechanical systems, and rigging operations, complemented by military experience that enhances leadership and discipline. The Ship Superintendent will play a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence and supporting our commitment to safety and reliability across all maritime activities. Duties Oversee the daily operations of ships, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies. Coordinate maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to maximize vessel availability and operational efficiency. Supervise shipboard personnel, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performance team. Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, including safety management systems and environmental standards. Manage rigging operations during loading, unloading, or repair activities, ensuring safety and precision. Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions promptly. Conduct regular audits of vessel documentation, safety drills, and operational procedures to maintain compliance. Liaise with port authorities, contractors, and vendors to facilitate smooth port calls and logistical support. Implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing vessel safety, efficiency, and crew welfare. Maintain detailed records of vessel maintenance, inspections, incidents, and compliance activities. Qualifications Extensive military experience in maritime operations or related fields is highly desirable. Proven management skills with experience leading diverse teams in a maritime environment. Strong mechanical knowledge related to ship systems, engines, rigging equipment, and general vessel maintenance. Demonstrated expertise in rigging operations and safety procedures during cargo handling or repairs. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure. Knowledge of international maritime regulations such as SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea), MARPOL (Marine Pollution), and ISM (International Safety Management) Code. Ability to communicate clearly across diverse teams and stakeholders worldwide. Relevant certifications such as STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) are preferred.
