Specializing in marine construction, stevedoring, pile driving, clamshell bucket dredging, floating crane, deck barge and marine towing operations since 1987. W3 is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Tugboat Operator / Captain to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Hampton Roads waterways, possess the necessary certifications and endorsements, and demonstrate strong leadership skills to manage a crew effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and navigate the tugboat with safety and precision in local waters. Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations at the local, state, and federal levels. Lead and manage a crew, fostering collaboration and efficiency. Maintain the tugboat to a firstclass standard, ensuring it is in optimal working condition. Conduct regular vessel inspections, perform maintenance, and address any necessary repairs. Communicate effectively with the crew, management, and other vessels to ensure smooth operations. Utilize extensive knowledge of the Hampton Roads waterways for safe and efficient navigation. Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
Valid 200 Ton Towing Endorsement / Master of Towing. Proper Coast Guard licenses and certifications. Proven experience operating tugboats, particularly in the Hampton Roads area. Strong leadership and crew management abilities. Dedication to safety and operational excellence. Day Work Flexible Schedule with
