Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a professional and reliable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty trucks to deliver freight efficiently across local routes. This role involves handling various types of cargo, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and dump truck loads, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across local routes. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary. Drive a variety of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks based on cargo requirements. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance standards are met. Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules or any delays. Assist with securing loads properly for transport to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Experience Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with tractor-trailers and freight delivery. Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks preferred. Experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus. Prior delivery driver experience involving route driving and load & unload operations highly desirable. Ability to operate additional equipment such as forklifts. Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial trucking and freight handling. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing long hours on the road while prioritizing safety and efficiency in every delivery. Prior experience in a marine or dock-related work is an asset.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
