Job Description
Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.
Summary :
Drives company vehicle, makes pickups and deliveries, receives, checks in, stores, and distributes materials, tools, supplies, equipment, and products by performing the following duties:Note:
Driver residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of fifteen dollars per day for room and board, for each day that at least eight hours of work is offered.Key Responsibilities:
Some locations include a commercial vehicle, while other shoreplants will operate vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) up to and over 26,000 lbs. Prepares receipts for load pickups. Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations, if required. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions. Loads and unloads truck/commercial vehicle if needed. Verifies loads for accuracy and delivers them as requested. Inspects vehicle prior to departure and on return to ensure vehicle maintenance continuity. Ensures equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water are maintained. Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit if necessary. Depending on the shoreplant, may require employee to safely remove dunnage if necessary. Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.Additional Responsibilities:
Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions. Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings. Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver's license (CDL) and good driving record. Must be willing to train in all applicable company and/or regulatory training programs as needed to perform the functions of this position.Preferred Qualifications:
Forklift certification, or able to become forklift certified at some shore plants. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.The employee moves objects:
regularly up to 10 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perceptionWork Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid or cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be available for flexible part-time hours, including evenings and weekends.Work authorizations:
