Scale House Attendant (Gravel Pit)

Position Summary The Scale House Attendant is the first point of contact for customers and truck drivers at our gravel pit. This role is responsible for accurately weighing end dumps and side dumps. Key Responsibilities

• Weigh inbound/outbound trucks using the scale system; verify order details (customer, product, job, truck/hauler, and destination as applicable).
• Generate, issue, and file scale tickets; maintain accurate daily records for sales, inventory/production tracking.
• Provide good customer service to drivers and the public (in person and by phone/radio); answer basic questions and communicate with loader/operators and dispatch to coordinate truck flow.
• Direct traffic at the scale house area and reinforce site rules (speed limits, PPE requirements, and safe routing).
• Maintain a clean, organized-scale house/office (light housekeeping, stocking forms and supplies, keeping printer/computer area tidy).
• Report equipment issues, ticket discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor; assist with routine scale system checks as assigned.
• Perform other administrative or site-support tasks as needed. Required Qualifications

• Ability to follow safety procedures and work around truck traffic.

Location:

Gravel Pit Location / Butte Alaska.

Schedule:

Part-time June - October 8 to 10 hours 5 days a week, with overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed.

• Work environment: Primarily in the scale house/office with frequent interaction outdoors near active truck routes and heavy equipment.
• PPE required when outside the scale house (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, and steel-toe boots). Compensation & Benefits

$20.00 to $22.00 per hour.
