Job Description
This role involves safely transporting concrete materials on a flatbed trailer and occasionally operating a forklift to load and unload equipment. The position offers steady daytime hours and requires a safety-focused driver with a strong commitment to reliability and professionalism.
Responsibilities
+ Transport concrete materials safely and efficiently using a flatbed trailer.
+ Operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
+ Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle and trailer are in safe operating condition.
+ Secure loads properly on the flatbed trailer to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
+ Operate a forklift occasionally to load and unload equipment and materials from the flatbed trailer.
+ Coordinate with dispatch, yard staff, and site personnel to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
+ Maintain accurate delivery logs and required documentation for each trip.
+ Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or delays promptly to the appropriate contact.
+ Keep the truck and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order.
+ Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment as required.
Essential Skills
+ Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with Class A preferred; Class B may be considered.
+ Demonstrated experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably with flatbed trailers.
+ Ability to safely secure and transport heavy materials such as concrete products.
+ Capability to operate a forklift safely for loading and unloading equipment.
+ Strong understanding of road safety regulations and commercial driving rules.
+ Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
+ Good communication skills to coordinate with dispatch and site personnel.
+ Attention to detail and a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience transporting construction or concrete materials on flatbed trailers.
+ Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance checks and reporting procedures.
+ Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within assigned routes and schedules.
+ Comfort working in outdoor environments around construction materials and equipment.
