Shop Assistant

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Parts Runner to support field and shop operations by locating, transporting, and delivering parts, lubricants, and other supplies to equipment, mechanics, and job sites. This position plays an important role in keeping equipment operating efficiently and ensuring materials are delivered accurately, on time, and in compliance with company safety standards and DOT requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Locate, pick up, and deliver equipment parts, tools, shop supplies, office supplies, fuel, oil, DEF, grease, and other materials as needed.
• Assist mechanics, shop personnel, and field teams with parts delivery, equipment support, and general operational needs.
• Load, unload, secure, and transport materials in a safe manner while verifying accuracy of orders and deliveries.
• Perform routine vehicle checks and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
• Keep assigned vehicles, work areas, and service equipment clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Follow directions, prioritize tasks, and respond promptly to changing operational needs. Cleaning of shop, equipment, and organization in the shop and on the yard.
• Comply with all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and applicable environmental and hazardous materials handling requirements.
• Perform related duties as assigned to support department and job site needs. Qualifications
• Ability to read and write and perform basic math calculations.
• Demonstrated safe and defensive driving skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Knowledge of local streets, routes, and job site navigation are preferred.

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and lift materials and supplies as needed throughout the workday. The employee must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, enter and exit trucks and equipment safely, and perform duties that may involve repetitive movement, physical exertion, and exposure to construction or shop environments. Work Environment Work is performed in shop, yard, and field settings and may include travel between company locations, vendor sites, and active job sites. The role may require exposure to moving equipment, traffic, dust, noise, fuel, lubricants, and other materials commonly found in construction and maintenance operations. Pay:

$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
