About the
Role:
The Driver position is critical to ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across various locations within the United States. This role involves operating commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks to deliver materials efficiently while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining vehicle safety, managing delivery schedules, and ensuring compliance with transportation management protocols. This position requires a strong understanding of route planning and map reading to optimize delivery routes and minimize delays. Ultimately, the Driver plays a vital role in supporting supply chain operations and maintaining high standards of customer service through reliable and professional transportation services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A. Proven experience in truck driving with knowledge of DOT regulations. Ability to operate dump trucks and box trucks safely. Strong map reading and route planning skills. Basic understanding of transportation management and warehousing operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with transportation management software. Additional endorsements on CDL such as hazardous materials or tanker endorsements. Previous experience in long-haul or regional freight delivery. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and minor repair procedures. Strong communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
Operate commercial vehicles including dump trucks and box trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations. Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal operation of commercial vehicles. Plan and follow the most efficient routes using maps and GPS technology to meet delivery schedules. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate with warehouse personnel and transportation management to facilitate loading and unloading of cargo. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to provide updates and resolve any delivery issues.
