We are looking for a driver local to the work area who has experience moving containers 20-40ft and also port driving experience in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Position for Day or Night shift. Tasks will include safely transporting 20-40ft containers including Pre-pulls, Drop & Hook & live unloads from/to the LA/LB ports or our yard in the Compton Area to their destination. These moves may go as far as Moreno Valley but certain Regional runs depending on volume. Responsibilities include safely moving containers, communicate with our teams safely to provide updates, follow all DOT rules & regulations, verifying paper work and equipment as well as completing pre & post trips on equipment to make sure it is safe to move &. Required to be able to speak and understand English for instructions and ability to track all paperwork & logs. Must meet physical requirements; this includes ability to sit for extended periods and as needed, to be able to lift/carry/push and pull when handling freight, securing load/equipment and/or hooking/unhooking trailers .This may involve walking, standing, bending, climbing, squatting and reaching. Position involves regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Benefits:
Day Shift $29 Hourly; start time varies 4am-8am based on appointments Night Shift $31 Hourly; start time between 5p-6pm Benefits options available for medical, dental, vision, 401k, Life Insurance Schedule Monday to Friday; start time may vary between 4am-8am based on appointments Hazmat Move Bonus for Completed Endorsed Moves for driver with Hazmat Holiday Pay available for
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year Day Requirements:
2 Years+ with CDLA License TWIC card with recent port driving experience in LA/ LB ports Recent Tractor trailer driving experience moving containers Hazmat Endorsement Able to operate Daycab and Sleeper Trucks Safe Driving Record , able to pass background & drug & alcohol test Must be at least 23 years old Must be able to read, speak and understand English Rates Subject to change.
