Job Description
Drivers are to maintain vehicles in good condition and inspect them on a regular basis. Drivers are also responsible for the transporting of residents and staff to and from scheduled Doctor appointments and outings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have clean DMV and Class B licenses with passenger endorsement. Must maintain good driving record. Able to communicate well with residents, families, and receptionist. Must be in constant contact with facility at all times. Must be flexible, punctual, and dependable and have ability to comply with sometimes-heavy transportation schedule. Must be enrolled in DOT random substance and alcohol testing. Sensitivity and caring for the elderly.
DUTIES:
Stay in compliance with driving schedule Must keep track of appointment and scheduled activity times Keep vehicles clean and maintained once a week Report any trouble or misunderstandings with staff, resident's, resident's family member to supervisor. Must report to Department head when supervisor is not in facility. Keep mileage record when using bus Must have effective communication with receptionist and supervisor Must assist all residents in an out of car. Must escort to doctor's office or any other facility when required Clean parking lot and front entrance with blower everyday When driver has no transportation must report to supervisor for other duties Physically able to perform assigned job task Adheres to guidelines in Employee Handbook including dress code, conduct, scheduling etc. Other duties and functions may be assigned to your position, as Granite Bay believes appropriate. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
CALIFORNIA
- For communities licensed for sixteen (16) to forty-nine (49) persons: • Must have at least six (6) months experience in providing planned activities or be enrolled in an appropriate education or training program. For communities licensed for fifty (50) or more persons: • Must have one (1) year of experience in conducting group activities and be knowledgeable in evaluating residents' needs, supervising other employees and in training volunteers. These requirements may be waived if an exception to this requirement is made by the licensing agency upon the community's written presentation of a satisfactory alternative plan. Prefer one (1) year of supervisory experience.
MathematicalSkills:
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations for preparing pricing and producing reports.
Reasoning Skills:
Understand complex issues and ability to carry out plan of action on own initiative.
Oral/Written Communication Skills:
Demonstrates sound communications skills, both verbally and written in dealing with residents, staff, families, visitors and vendors. Must be able to speak, read and write English.
Equipment Used:
Be proficient in basic office equipment (including a personal computer) for the purpose of accomplishing and maintaining a high level of job performance.
Physical Effort:
Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal test result not more than 6 months prior or seven (7) days after employment. Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Assist in loading and un-loading of residents into property's vehicle/van. Be mobile and able to perform physical requirements of the job. Will require physically assisting residents during activities.
Personal Characteristics:
Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.
Working Conditions:
Well-lighted, safe office with appropriate ventilation and temperature levels. Will be working in all resident care areas of the facility. Will accompany residents on outings outside of the property.
Other:
(As required by Title 22) Employee must pass a criminal record clearance prior to beginning work in the community. Employee must possess current first aid training. Employee must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
