Duties Operate bottom dump trucks, including tractor-trailers and dump trucks, to transport bulk materials such as gravel, sand, or other aggregates. Load and unload freight safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary. Drive on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations while maintaining punctual delivery schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, and safety features. Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, route details, and vehicle maintenance reports. Assist with securing loads properly to prevent shifting or spillage during transit. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Proven experience driving dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission. Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and freight hauling equipment. Strong knowledge of route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols for freight transportation. Ability to handle various types of freight including bulk materials and specialized cargo like refrigerated goods or tankers. Skilled in using forklift equipment for loading/unloading when required. Excellent driving record with experience in delivery driver roles involving freight handling and route management.
