Age Well Senior Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing resources for our ever-expanding senior population. Since 1975, Age Well has provided senior service programs throughout Orange County, including home delivered meals, non-emergency medical transportation, senior center lunches, health and wellness programs, care management, and operation of senior centers. We are dedicated to assisting seniors in a professional, caring and compassionate manner.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our drivers provide door-to-door transportation services to seniors in South Orange County. You will be responsible to provide safe procedural handling of older adults, keep regularly scheduled pick-up times and keep assigned vehicle clean and fueled. A clean driving record is a must! This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Age Well Senior Services. It is expected that our employees demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of Age Well Senior Services. We expect our employees to work effectively, patiently and positively with our seniors, co-workers and others by being courteous, conscientious, and kind-spirited. Drivers must obey all safety and driving regulations, practice good communication with the Supervisor, and use solution-oriented methods when addressing problems. DUTIES Transporting seniors and individuals with disabilities via Age Well bus/van Transporting participants to and from senior sites, medical appointments, etc. Assisting participants in wheelchairs board and exit the vehicle Providing door-to-door service Complete route sheets, required reports, and other documentation Observe and obey all traffic laws and safety regulations Maintain safety precautions when participants are boarding and departing the bus/van Follow assigned route and adhere to set schedules Keep assigned vehicles clean and fueled Promptly report accidents, vehicle damage and injuries to the Transportation Manager Attend driver training and staff meetings Maintain a professional, respectful and kind attitude toward all passengers Other duties as assigned SKILLS Must be dependable, punctual, courteous and have excellent customer service skills Familiarity with South Orange County geographical area is a plus Ability to read and comprehend oral and written instruction Ability to communicate effectively with Supervisors, co-workers, and others Demonstrates positive attitude with the ability to exercise independent judgment in emergency situations that may arise High level of communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate character and experience working well with older adults Must follow and adhere to Age Well Senior Services Employee Code of Standards and the mission to support senior vitality and independence

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

Class B California Driver License with passenger endorsement

REQUIRED

Valid Medical Examiners Certificate (DL51A) High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle on public roads Ability to push/pull up to 75lbs and load wheelchairs/other equipment Ability to speak clearly, hear and listen attentively Assist clients on and off of vehicle Must have physical ability to secure wheelchair tie-downs on buses and vans Visual acuity in close, distance, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. • South Orange County Schedule Monday
• Friday, during service hours between 7:00 AM
• 5:30PM, with occasional weekend coverage as needed.
