CDL A DOT
Physical Certification Full Job Description Most regional positions promise consistency and deliver chaos. This one is built differently — fixed territory, assigned equipment, and a dispatch team that measures success by whether you're home when you're supposed to be.
Compensation Breakdown:
Base mileage: $0.56 CPM climbing to $0.64 CPM as tenure grows Realistic weekly gross: $1,300 to $1,500 for drivers running their available hours Mileage volume: 2,000 to 2,400 miles weekly across a stable freight network Performance incentives: additional cash for drivers maintaining clean safety records
Payroll:
automated direct deposit, same day every week New driver onboarding: fully compensated from first day of class
Equipment & Operations:
Assigned unit from day one — Freightliner Cascadia or Kenworth T680 No shared trucks, no pool rotations Dry van freight only — no hazmat, no flatbed, no specialized handling Customer freight is pre-staged — drivers never touch the cargo Freight mix leans heavily toward drop & hook with select live stop appointments
Schedule Structure:
Territory confined to regional lanes — no cross-country dispatching Weekly mileage target of 2,000 to 2,400 is consistently achievable 34-hour home reset built into every weekly cycle Drivers with earning goals can opt into extended road time voluntarily Dispatch operates on planned windows — your ETA home is a commitment, not a guess
Training Pathway:
Position is accessible to CDL-A holders regardless of experience level Structured 3 to 5 week mentorship program pairs you with a senior road driver Training syllabus includes log compliance, pre-trip inspection standards, and customer protocol Independent dispatch begins immediately after trainer certification Full pay applies throughout the entire training period — no reduced training wage
Employee Benefits:
Comprehensive health plan covering medical, dental, and vision expenses Employer-matched retirement contributions through 401(k) enrollment Paid time off accrual beginning after introductory period Company-funded life insurance and accidental death benefit policy Approved riders and pets permitted under fleet guidelines
Minimum Qualifications:
Active Class A Commercial Driver License Tractor-trailer operating history of 6 months minimum, or CDL-A graduate status Successful completion of DOT physical examination and substance screening Motor vehicle record reflecting no more than 2 violations within 36 months No impaired driving convictions within the preceding 3 years Criminal history clear of felony charges within the last 5 years Orientation cohorts are forming now — delayed applications risk losing your spot.
