Starting Rate:
$35/hour
Key Responsibilities
This position requires driving Local routes weekly (San Diego/Los Angeles).
Safely operate Class C•A vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
Pick up, verify, and deliver loads accurately and on time
Load and unload a variety of cargo safely and efficiently
Accurately complete required logs and transportation paperwork
Inspect vehicle pre-trip and perform basic maintenance as needed
Drive safely in all conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather
Follow DOT regulations, schedules, and required rest periods
Navigate routes using maps, GPS, and directions
Provide courteous, professional service at all customer locations
Work collaboratively inteam driving assignments
Handle and transport animals safely and humanely, including non-human primates
Adhere to strict animal welfare standards and safe handling practices
Work in warehouse fulfillingorders when not driving
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Valid CDL Class A License with a clean driving record
Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience (5 years Preferred) (Live animal transport experience preferred)
Successful completion of a motor vehicle record check
Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively in English
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Ability to lift upto 70 lbs. repeatedly
Comfortable driving for extended periods
Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
Solid knowledge of roadways, traffic laws, and DOT regulations
Strong customer service and communication skills
Must be comfortable working with animals of varying sizes
Additional Requirements
May require compliance with ongoing tuberculosis (TB) screening and testing in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines •This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
