Location:
Sacramento, CA (Plant) - Acetylene production & filling How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? As the "face of Airgas", the delivery driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided tractor trailer, straight, or box truck. This position loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers. Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Responsible for participating in identifying any safety and/or health hazards while in the workplace. Maintain a safe driving record and appropriate driver's license classification while operating company vehicles and equipment. Loads and unloads service trucks with gas cylinders, containers and supplies for scheduled route deliveries as directed by dispatcher. Makes deliveries in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction is met. Ensures that all documents required to move and deliver the load are available and accurate. Perform any non-route delivery necessary to provide customers with products. Maintains records promptly and accurately as required by the company and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Inspects vehicles for defects and safe operating conditions before each delivery (pre-trip) and submit necessary documentation to report any defects or problems immediately. Performs post-trip delivery at the end of each shift. Identify potential problems with cylinders and notify management in a timely manner. Performs all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, local and DOT regulations. Collects, records transactions and submit all customer payments promptly to the manager. Pulls orders from the warehouse as necessary. Occasional mandatory overtime may be required, and On-Call on weekends and holidays. Provides support to internal and external customers to maintain inventory and delivery needs.
