In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks to transport freight efficiently and securely across designated routes only in San Diego County. Your primary focus will be on delivering beverages promptly while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Responsibilities Safely operate trucks and trailors. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns. Follow established routes for delivery and pick-up, maintaining timely schedules while navigating traffic and road conditions effectively. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation laws, including hours-of-service regulations and safety standards. Document delivery details accurately in logs and reports; communicate any delays or issues promptly to dispatch. Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the vehicle; report any maintenance needs immediately. Skills Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations. Valid CDL license with endorsements relevant to the vehicle types operated (e.g., refrigerated trailer, tanker). Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers. Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklifts when required for loading or unloading freight. Knowledge of freight handling procedures for various cargo types including flatbed loads, tankers, and refrigerated goods. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo securement. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, load & unload procedures, and adherence to schedules.
