Non-Exempt Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Safely operate Super 10 and dump trucks on construction projects. Perform roll-off container deliveries and pickups. Transport heavy equipment, including backhoes and other construction machinery, using equipment trailers. Transfer Truck experience preferred Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Secure loads and equipment in compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain accurate logs, tickets, and required paperwork. Assist with basic equipment maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly. Work closely with project managers, dispatch, and field personnel to ensure efficient operations Communicate with supervisor every day you are scheduled to work in regards to delivery instructions Operate vehicle in a safe manner, using most direct legal route for transporting Must transport equipment with attention to detail and emphasis on safety Perform emergency roadside repairs Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations Adhere to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as set forth by the US Department of Transportation Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water on a daily basis Ensure the truck is kept clean on the interior and exterior
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of truck driving experience required Water truck experience preferred Ability to operate truck on/off-road(s) Experience with dump truck hauling a backhoe required. Experience with flatbed is a plus Experience operating Super 10 dump truck, Standard dump trucks, Roll-off trucks, and Transfer truck preferred. Equipment trailers hauling backhoes and other heavy equipment Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety requirements. Ability to safely load, secure, and transport construction equipment. Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality. Construction industry experience preferred. Must be able to work weekends and/or overtime when needed Be familiar with CA DOT regulations and permit requirements Ability to lift heavy objects 50+ lbs. Walking/Standing/Bending for long periods of time Perform strenuous physical labor in outdoor elements Required to pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check Required to have a current Medical Examiner Certificate Required to have a valid Class A driver license and clean driving record Physical Demands - A qualified individual must be able to perform these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation: Sitting and/or standing/walking for long periods on uneven ground Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally Twisting, reaching overhead, pulling, pushing Ability to work at heights (e.g., on ladders, scaffolding) and in confined spaces (such as trenches or manholes) as required by the project Use hands to handle tools and equipment, and reach with arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision (for reading plans/computer screens), distance vision, and depth perception." Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities Work Environment This role is can be indoors or outdoors on active construction sites. The employee could be exposed to weather conditions such as heat, cold, and rain, and will work near heavy machinery and moving vehicles The noise level on site is often loud, and the environment may involve dust and fumes. Appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety vest, hearing protection, etc.) is required at all times. Work may occasionally be at heights or in confined spaces The employee is required to follow all safety policies and procedures and to actively participate in safety trainings and meetings. This position is classified as safety-sensitive Must be willing to work overtime or weekends when project deadlines require
