In this role, you will be responsible for operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently and securely across designated routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, proper load handling, and adherence to all safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills while contributing to the seamless movement of goods across multiple locations. Duties Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles with manual transmissions. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and safety. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement. Follow designated routes for delivery and pick-up, maintaining punctuality and efficiency throughout each shift. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including hours-of-service rules and safety standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation. Skills Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual transmissions is essential. Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred. Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures including load securement and weight distribution. Ability to drive safely over long distances while adhering to route schedules. Skilled in operating auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when necessary for loading or unloading cargo. Excellent communication skills for interacting with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
