Local CDL Class A Truck Driver

Job Overview - Hauling general aggregate and asphalt We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various types of driving, including truck driving, delivery driving, and operating specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers. This role involves transporting goods efficiently and safely while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Responsibilities Operate commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds for local deliveries. Load and unload freight as required, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage. Navigate designated routes efficiently while maintaining punctuality for deliveries. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road. Adhere to all safety protocols while operating vehicles and handling freight. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Experience with manual transmission vehicles is preferred. Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized trucks is highly desirable. Proven experience in delivery driver roles or similar positions involving route driving. Ability to operate forklifts and perform basic maintenance on vehicles as needed. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately. Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries. Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
