Full Job Description Purpose:

Drive a vehicle such as a straight truck or glass rack truck with a capacity of less than 26,001 pounds gross vehicle weight. Vehicle will be used primarily to deliver or pick up any related equipment, materials, and/or to jobsites, vendors, customers. Additional glass shop actives will be required when driving is not available. Start time Varies depending on the delivery location

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Drives FMCSA regulated (over 10,001 lbs) truck daily. Minimum 40-hour work week available. Overtime always available up to 70 hours. Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location Analyze delivery address, determine appropriate routes and maintain schedule Deliver product within assigned route, schedule and time frame. Immediately inform management team of any deviations Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations Maintain driving log, prepare vehicle performance forms and complete daily paperwork Maintain the vehicle Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle. Complete daily pre use inspection (DVIR). Notify supervisors about any major repairs and maintenance Report any accidents or injuries to supervisors immediately Keeps record of materials and products transported Position blocks and applies straps around items to secure cargo for transport Operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials Obtains customer signature or collects payment for goods delivered and delivery charges Assists in loading and unloading truck manually Assist in all glass shop functions (assembly of window frames, doors, glass worker activities, etc.). Operate an industrial forklift and pallet jacks to load and handle materials.

Experience/Required Qualifications:

Three or more years experience driving a truck or van to make delivers and or service calls Must be at least 20 years old. Be able to follow verbal and written instructions The ability to work with and get along with other MPGA employees and respectful of all clients / public Excellent customer communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required Workers may be subject to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check. Workers will be subject to motor vehicle record checks for driving violations Required Physical Effort (Essential job functions) Work is performed outdoors and some tasks may be performed regardless of adverse weather conditions. Work may involve considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises(construction site environments) Frequently lifting, pushing, or moving product that weighs 75 pounds up to 100 pounds; frequently reaching up to 72" to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart; constantly bending and twisting while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer Frequently holding and grasping with the hands when loading and unloading equipment and tying and chaining down equipment Work may require prolonged sitting in drivers seat, walking extended distances over varied terrain, bending, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching , or crawling Work environment involves working near moving mechanical parts and other exposures to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
