Per Diem Shifts:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On-Call Tuesday & Thursday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Are you someone who enjoys being out on the road, connecting with others, and making a meaningful impact in your community? Join our team as a Meals on Wheels Driver and help bring nourishment, safety checks, and a friendly smile to seniors who rely on us daily. Deliver meals safely and on schedule to elderly clients using a company vehicle. Load, organize, and transport up to 100 meals per day while maintaining food safety standards. Provide friendly, respectful customer service during each delivery. Follow assigned delivery routes and adjust as needed for weather, traffic, or client needs. Maintain accurate delivery logs and report any issues, concerns, or changes in client condition. Ensure the company vehicle remains clean, fueled, and in good working condition. Follow all safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures when handling food. Communicate effectively with supervisors, kitchen staff, and program coordinators. What You'll Need to beSuccessful:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in delivery driving, food service, or community support roles. Familiarity with food safety and handling procedures. Basic understanding of safe driving practices and vehicle operation. Ability to follow routes, read maps, and use basic navigation tools. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be able to lift and carry insulated meal bags, coolers, and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs, multiple times per shift. Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and climbing stairs while delivering meals to homes or apartments. Ability to safely operate a vehicle for extended periods (up to several hours per day), often getting in and out of the vehicle repeatedly during a shift. Use of hands and arms for loading meals, handling food containers, and operating vehicle controls. Must be comfortable driving and walking in a variety of weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold. Will enter a range of home settings that may include: stairs or uneven walkways, pets, varying levels of cleanliness or clutter, and possible exposure to secondhand smoke, strong odors, or allergens. Occasionally exposed to traffic noise, GPS instructions, or other interruptions while on the road. May interact with clients who are lonely, ill, or in distress.
