Flatbed Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Flatbed Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial truck driving, with expertise in handling flatbed trailers and various freight types. As a Flatbed Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Duties Operate flatbed trucks equipped with manual transmission to transport freight efficiently and safely across regional or national routes. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring securement of loads according to safety standards. Drive tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers and tanker units, adhering strictly to traffic laws and company policies. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip. Plan optimal routes for delivery schedules, maintaining punctuality while managing route driving challenges effectively. Assist with freight handling, including load securing, weight distribution, and ensuring cargo integrity during transit. Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, and compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on flatbed transportation and freight delivery. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for flatbed operations; experience with manual transmission preferred. Familiarity with handling refrigerated trailers, tanker units, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment when necessary. Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving, including hours of service and cargo securement standards. Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in route driving is highly desirable. Ability to operate specialized vehicles such as dump trucks or tractor-trailers confidently and responsibly.
