In this role, you will be responsible for operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to transport freight efficiently and securely across designated routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries, proper load handling, and adherence to safety regulations. Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized freight vehicles. Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring secure placement of goods. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and load to identify any safety issues or damages. Follow designated routes for delivery and pick-up, maintaining accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations and company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or issues encountered during transit. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior to promote safety and professionalism. Qualifications Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Experience operating various types of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks. Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles. Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially with route driving and freight handling. Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or manual techniques. Knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial trucking operations. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately. Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform manual tasks as needed.
